Frequently Asked Questions:
Here's a few of the commonly asked questions about these compatible cartridges.
We hope they will put your at ease about our Quality After Market Products.
After Market = not made buy the Original Printer Manufacturer..ie. Canon, Brother or Epson
1. Are these refilled cartridges?
No.. the cartridges available from inksets.com.au are all Brand New.
2. How many pages will they print?
Well..that depends on what you are printing..obviously a full colour photo will use much more ink than a letter of text.
These cartridges either meet or exceed the original manufacturers specifications. They have either the SAME or MORE ink in them.
3. Will these cartridges damage my printer?
No..these cartridges will not damage your printer. Installed correctly, they fit and function in almost the same way as the Original
Brand cartridges. We Guarantee the quality of the products we supply.
4. Do they come with a Guarantee?
100% Yes.. they sure do. Every product sold on inksets.com.au comes with 100% Quality Guarantee. Installed correctly and stored
correctly, these cartridges are Guaranteed to be free of defects, have high print quality and print volume as the original brand products.
5. Do they look the same as the Genuine Brand Cartridges?
No..they look similar, but slightly different and would most likely have a plastic pull tab to remove before installing them into your printer.
6. My printer says replace ink..but there is some ink still in the cartridge?
Yes..all manufacturers ensure that the printer ink cartridges have a small amount of ink left in the ink cartridges when the printer requests a new
ink cartridge. This is to keep the print heads moist, so that there is less possibility of printer head blockage from drying ink. Some printers have
an automatic timed function to push a small amount of ink through the print head to keep it moist.
NOTE: --- WARNING --- NEVER shake your printer cartridges to see if there is any ink in them. Both Genuine Brand cartridges and Compatible cartridges may leak if you do this.
INKJET PRINTER ADVICE:
Most printer cartridges do not empty completely..this is to make sure that the print heads, inside your printer, never dry out. If they are left without ink for a period of time, the print heads can be blocked by dry ink. You may think the cartridges you then install do not work...but this non printing is due to the print heads being blocked.
Some printer Brands state to leave the printer turned on, when not in use. This is because there is a function in this printer that occasionally pumps a small amount of ink through the print head to avoid the drying of ink and any possible blockage.
If the printers print head is to heavily blocked, the printer is a write off, as the cost of the repair to these printers is usually twice the price of purchasing a new printer.
TIP for blocked print heads
Most times..a blocked print head can be fixed if it is detected in time. Try running the "Print Head Clean" or "Deep Head Clean" options from the printer maintenance menu.
You may get lines of odd colour lines or missing colour lines through an image you have printed. The text with the image would have printed fine. The ink levels of your cartridges will be showing sufficient levels to print the job. This could be caused by the image itself..sometimes the printers software cannot replicate the image that appears on the screen, it may b e too complicated for the software to interpret and reproduce correctly. You can check this by printing another document with an image..one that you know has printed correctly before and comparing the image quality. If the problem appears in both printouts..there may be a blockage in the printers print head. Run the print head clean and re-check the results.
Firstly... work out the functions you need for your printing. Do you need a scanner? Do you need double sided printing? Do you need to fax documents? Do you need multiple sheet feeding?
Then see what is available.. BE SURE TO CHECK THE CONSUMABLES (ink cartridges) the prospective printers use!!
Generally..it is cheaper to run a printer that uses individual colour cartridges..because the colours are replaced individually. We recommend you avoid the models that have 1 x black and 1 x tri-colour cartridge.
